The process of making deposits has never been easier due to the recent unveiling of our Mobile Remote Deposit feature, available for all Landmark Bank customers.
Every smartphone and most tablets are built with advanced cameras these days. The Mobile Remote Deposit feature takes full advantage of these cameras by allowing you to deposit checks into your checking or savings accounts, simply by taking a picture of the item and sending it through our mobile app.
How do I get it?
First thing's first: You'll need to enroll in online banking. Then login and click on the Other Services tab to enroll in Mobile Banking. Now you are ready to download our mobile app for your smartphone or tablet. We have an app available on both the iOS App Store and Google Play.
The app is free to download and making deposits with the app is free as well. However, any usage will count against your monthly data plan if you aren't connected to Wi-Fi.
How does it work?
When you have a check to deposit, be sure to endorse it on the back. We recommend you write "Mobile deposit on [the date]" in the endorsement field. Now open the app to login, click on Deposits and follow the onscreen instructions for Mobile Remote Deposit. You'll then receive two emails from us. The first will inform you the deposit has been received and the second message will let you know if the transaction was approved or declined, with the reason why.
Any checks deposited into your account before 7 p.m. Central Standard Time will be considered made on that business day. For example, if you deposit the check on September 30 at 5 p.m., the deposit date will be the 30th. However, the actual funds won't be available until the following business day.
"The new Mobile Remote Deposit feature of our mobile banking app is a must-have for our customers."
Potential questions and concerns
Sometimes mistakes occur, don't worry, we review all mobile deposits and make necessary corrections. Be sure to verify that the check will be deposited into your desired account. Once the check is received by the bank, you will not be able to switch the deposit account; instead, you'll have to wait until the funds are available and then transfer them.
When the deposit is completed and the funds are in your account, don't be so quick to throw away the check. We recommend you hold onto it for 14 days to ensure there are no problems. After two weeks, destroy it so it can't be presented for payment again.
The new Mobile Remote Deposit feature of our mobile banking app is a must-have for our customers. It's a convenient feature, as you won't have to travel to a branch location for every deposit, meaning you'll also save on transportation costs.
